Students in 4th and 5th grade will be learning about the importance of responsibility: They will be defining what it means to be responsible and working in groups to describe how we have to/need to be responsible in different areas of our lives: home, school, community, world. Activities: Each group will rotate around the room to discuss and write on chart paper about the following: 1. How they define responsibility 2. Importance of Responsibility at School--will be giving examples and non examples of school responsibilities. 3. Importance of Responsibility at home--will be giving examples and non examples of home responsibilities. 4. Importance of Responsibility in our community/ world--will be giving examples and non examples of community/world responsibilities. We will then go over Responsibility Weekly Studies.
Students in 2nd and 3rd grade will be learning about the importance of responsibility. They will be defining what it means to be responsible and creating flowers (girls) and lion (boys) that have characteristics of a responsible person. Interactive Smartboard: Responsibility Match Game- when a student receives a match they must explain a way they are responsible in that setting. (home, school, community, with friends, teachers, etc.)
Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will be learning the importance of being a good listener. They will watch a video on a special rabbit who was not a good listener and the outcome of his choices. We will discuss what it looks like to be a good listener. We will then make a My Listening Ears craft.
